Help 4-button hole buttons stay on longer by sewing
them on in two steps. Sew two holes completely and then the last
two holes. If one side works loose or breaks.

Painting doors
Don't forget this tip before painting around a metal
door: Rub all the metal parts with Vaseline before starting your
painting job. Vaseline repels the paint. |
Three-Tiered Wire
Hanging Baskets
Use three-tiered wire hanging baskets in your sewing
room to store scraps of lace. When you are working on a project
that requires a small amount, you can quickly view your supply. |
Paint Smell
There can be a smell in the house for days after
painting a room's doors or windows. Place a bucket filled with
water and a coffee spoon of liquid ammonia inside each applicable
room overnight. Or: cut two onions in pieces and place in a pot
filled with water. That helps.

Color spots on your
skin ?
Almost all of us who want to have clean hands after
painting use a thinner or turpentine oil. A better way is to use
baby or cooking oil. It softens the color and spares the hands. |
Sharpening
Scissors
Are all the scissors in your house blunt? What can
you do? Here's a very simple trick: Cut some fine emery paper
and your scissors will be sharp again.

Paintbrush
If a paintbrush got hard you'll get it soft again
if you place it in boiling water in which you added some vinegar.
Rinse the soft brush in soapsuds. |
Small Screws
If you have to drill in small screws it can sometimes
drive you crazy. They're too small to grip and you also can't
get them into the hole. Put a bit of all purpose glue on the tip
of your finger and this won't be a problem anymore.

occur while using these tips. I've tried many of the applications found
on these pages, and haven't encountered any difficulties.
