MAKING LAVENDER STICKS

1st step picture

First: Harvest 10-15 flower spikes, leaving a long stem on each one. The higher buds on each spike should just be opening. Strip the lower leaves from each stem, fit the flower heads together, and trim the ends of the stems evenly.

Last: Using narrow string or thread, bind each bundle together just under the lowest flowers. Wrap ribbon around stems and tie. Add decorative ribbons and bows. Store by hanging flower-end down. Use Lavender sticks to decorate baskets, wreaths, and gift boxes, or as a sachet.
